It is with sadness that we learned today about the passing of Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh at the age of 93.

Mícheál visited Doon in 1991 to launch "Doon GAA a History", by Tom O'Brien. This was agreat event which was held in St Fintan's CBS and well attanded. Mícheál with his usual wit had many humerous observations about the book and Doon itself. One of them being that he never saw a place that needed 2 priests to mind them and only one Guard. Mícheál was very generous with his time and the visit is fondly remembered.
